Challenge Course

challenge coarse Your first challenge is “All Aboard”, and it’s time to get to know each other! You will challenge yourselves to see how long the group can stand with both feet on the 2’x2’ platform. Everyone should be able to last at least ten seconds…or for more fun try making it through one favorite song chorus! Once you’ve found yourselves a little closer to your team members, it is time to cross the “Acid River”, using only 3 bridge sections and the existing supports. It will take some thoughtful planning and safe maneuvering, because if a team mate falls in, everyone must start from the beginning.

Next is the trust building “Low V”. Here you will further divide your group into teams of two and start at the narrow end of the “V”. Support each other as you move as far towards the wide end as you can. It’s not that high, but you had still better trust your teammate!

“Bridge Out”, is all about creative problem solving, and with two sections of the bridge missing, it will be difficult to get all of your group members across. Your team must figure out how to cross the gaps using two available boards that by themselves are not quite long enough. No jumping!

The final challenge is the “Mohawk Walk”. Three zigzagging sections of bridge are all that are left to successfully finish the course, and with nothing to help balance, it will not be easy. Forming a human chain will be the only way to help you balance as you move from one tree to the next. Trust each other and hone your balance, and you’ll do just fine. For the ultimate challenge, split your group up and try to cross with less than four people.
